The Best GF Bread I've Tasted . . .

Well from a packaged source that is.  If you are not a baker or simply don't have the time and patience to attempt GF bread then let me tell you about the one I think is the absolute best!

As I mentioned yesterday, I attended the Gluten Free and Allergy Expo in Dallas on Sunday.  I was able to try a wide variety of breads from at least 10 different companies and there was a very clear front runner!  Canyon Bakehouse, a small and up and coming GF bakery from Loveland Colorado had 2 of THE best GF breads I've ever tasted.  The San Juan 7-Grain is not only really moist and tasty, they also paid a great deal of attention to the nutritional value of the bread.

As you may have noticed when reading GF labels, the products contain one very refined starch after another, making these products the nutritional equivalent of a Twinkie!

But these guys added things like whole grain teff, quinoa, amaranth, millet, agave and molasses to the San Juan 7-Grain loaf and each of these ingredients is on my top personal Top 50 Nutritional Allstar List!  It actually tastes like regular whole wheat bread!  So here's a simple way to make your family and friends ooh and ahh and exclaim . . .

OMG! That's Gluten Free?

So if your local natural grocer doesn't carry their products, you can request that they start.  It will make you a superhero in your GF community!
