Don't Miss Any of Your Favorite Holiday Recipes!

Well, it’s almost Thanksgiving . . . and it’s truly my favorite holiday and to be perfectly honest, for me it’s just one big celebration from Thanksgiving until New Year’s Day!  When I found that I was sensitive to both wheat and cows’ milk, I was little concerned about some of my favorite holiday dishes.  Being somewhat of a chemist (my science loving, physician self) and a former chef, I decided that I was going to conquer my favorite dishes and while it took me a few tries, I DID IT!

In fact, the very first recipes I designed to be wheat, gluten, dairy, sugar and even egg free were all because my patients didn’t want to miss out on their favorite holiday dishes . . . and neither did I!  Now there’s no reason for you to compromise on flavor, texture or the fun of the holidays and all the traditional foods you’ve grown to love through the years!

My title of my cookbook – OMG! That’s Allergy Free? – says it all . . .

While it was my strategy to design recipes that were super nutrient dense, I also focused on flavor and texture.  It’s been my experience through my years of allergy free eating, that most of the foods available lacked great flavor and generally have lousy texture.  So it was imperative that all three aspects were so spot on that no one would ever guess these foods had anything “missing” from the dishes.

After I was satisfied with a recipe, I cooked and served them to unsuspecting neighbors and friends who had no idea these were allergy free dishes.  I listened to their words of encouragement as well as any critiques and used them as an inspiration to make the necessary tweaks to perfect the recipes.

Time after time, when I revealed that these recipes were WF, GF, SF, DF and often Vegan the response was always the same – “OMG! That’s Allergy Free???  I would have never guessed!  It’s sooooooo good!”
