Irresistible Chocolate Walnut Brownies
There are times when using a packaged mix is not just easier, it can also produce a superior end product! In the case of brownies, Namaste’s mix is the best choice! They are a snap to make and with just a few additions no one will ever guess they are Gluten Free!
Yield – 24 medium brownies
1 package Namaste GF Chocolate Brownie Mix
1 organic egg, lightly beaten or egg replacer
¼ cup strongly brewed Teechino or coffee
½ cup walnut oil
¾ cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
½ Tropical Source chocolate chips
3 tablespoons flax seeds
Arrange oven rack to the center of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees.
Grease a 9 x 9 inch pan, dust with cocoa powder* and sprinkle flax seeds evenly over the bottom of the pan. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl add all ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon just until ingredients are well incorporated. Do not over mix. Over mixing will result in a cake like brownie rather than a fudgy brownie.
Bake in the center of the oven for approximately 22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few crumbs. Do Not Overbake!
Cool completely before cutting into 24 squares.
*When baking a chocolate cake or brownies, always dust your baking pan with cocoa instead of flour so that your baked goods will not have any unsightly white powder on the edges.
